IFWEA is building a global knowledge community.  We facilitate global co-operation between worker educators so as to advance the frontiers of knowledge, education methodology and practice.  Our beneficiaries are democratic worker organisations promoting freedom, justice and equality for all.

FOUNDATION SKILLS FOR SOCIAL CHANGE (FSSC) CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME
INDIA Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) Women’s Leadership Course, and PAKISTAN Labour Education Foundation (LEF) Gender Equity Course via IFWEA’s Online Labour Academy (OLA)

The Indian Academy for Self Employed Women (IASEW) started their four day Women’s Leadership course on OLA in July, after the course was translated into Gujurati. This online and face to face education programme is led by Namrata Bali, director of IASEW in India. In Pakistan, led by Khalid Mahmood, director of LEF. On the first day IASEW said on Facebook: “This time online Women Leadership Course is in their mother tongue! Participants of third batch are charged up with the positive energy. STUDY CIRCLES FOR SOCIAL CHANGE PROGRAMME
SOUTH AFRICA – KHAYELITSHA

Thandiwe Mandlevu from Lorna Mfolana Parents Movement in Khayelitsha, South Africa organised young members into a study circle through sharing basic sewing skills. She says: “I learnt how to organize and facilitate. I also learnt about creating a learning environment and structure. GLOBAL – IRELAND: Making Your Mark Project
University of Limerick (UL) Engage “Limerick Be Heard” Press Release

“Limerick Be Heard, a local group whose aim is to increase participation in politics, hosted a two day conference in Limerick recently, in which representatives from a number of international youth and higher education organisations took part. Among the institutions involved were representatives from Sweden’s Arbetarnas Bildningsförbund (National Worker’s Educational Association), the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, the South African based International Federation of Educational Associations (IFWEA), the University of Massachusetts, Boston, USA and the youth organisation, ZAK Malta.  Through a series of interactive workshops, the delegates shared examples of the ways that they engage with young people and marginalised people in their respective communities.” read more about the project here




SOUTH AFRICA – GLOBAL: IFWEA affiliate Workers World Media Productions (WWMP)’s “Workers’ World Labour Show” partnered with global affiliate International Transport Federation (ITF)

for their Cabotage, Dockers Section and ITF Seafarers’ Section conferences held in Cape Town South Africa from 4th to 6th June 2017.”
