The General Conference, held every four years, provides an opportunity for representatives of IFWEA affiliates to meet and strengthen the bonds of international solidarity. The Conference serves to stimulate the development of a democratic workers' education movement, by providing contact between member organisations, assisting with the development of partnerships, and promoting best practice in educational design and delivery, through debates, seminars, workshops and networking. The 2011 IFWEA General Conference, held in Cape Town from the 28th November - 1st December provided such an oppurtunity for delegates from all regions of IFWEA.

An important development at the conference was the unveiling of the IFWEA Online Academy courses. The pilot phase will be launched in 2012. We have uploaded a series of course surveys for affiliates to engage with course content and outlines. Please visit here to fill out the survey and learn more about the courses.
