IFWEA GENERAL CONFERENCE

FACING FLEXIBILITY:
GLOBALISING STRATEGIES FOR WORKERS EDUCATION AND ORGANISATION IN THE 21ST CENTURY

The IFWEA General Conference was held at the Strand Tower Hotel, in Cape Town, South Africa, from Monday 28 November to Thursday 1 December 2011. 

The General Conference, held every four years, elected a new Executive Committee, with its President, Sue Schurman and General Secretary, Sahra Ryklief, re-elected by acclamation. With the theme, 'facing flexiblity' the conference also hosted a series on workshops on climate change, organising the informal economy and Fair Trade. The conference also allowed for regions to report on activities and plans for the next period.
