EDITORIAL

The IFWEA General Conference held on the 28th November - 1st December 2011 brought together 140 delegates representing IFWEA affiliates, partner organisations and guests from Labour Organisations around the world. The General Conference re-elected the President, Sue Schurman; and General Secretary, Sahra Ryklief; and  elected a streamlined  Executive Committee to guide the organisation through the next four years.

The conference theme was ‘Facing Flexibility’. Education and Research tools to assist labour’s responses to the global trend of flexibility in labour compensation and deployment shaped both the business of the General Conference agenda and the  workshops during the four days of conference.

An important development at the conference was the introduction to the IFWEA Online Academy. The roll-out of online courses will commence in 2012. We have uploaded a series of course surveys for affiliates to engage with the proposed course curricula of the first six courses. Please visit here to review these. Please fill out the survey – WE WANT YOUR OPINION on whether the course will be useful to your organisation or not.

As this is the last e-bulletin for the year, we wish you all a pleasant festive  season and a happy new year.
