Many greetings from big Estonian study circle.
Our study circle group consist of half of women and half of men (all together 14 members), which improved gender balance within the group.
All of us are interesting persons from different trade unions and non-govermental organisations, which make our discussions more miscellaneous.
Maybe you are wondering about the big number of members of our study circle, but we decided that all together we can feel more boldly to start to get to know about TNCs and to speak openly about their impact to society among trade unions and NGOs at first time in Estonia.
In the following you can see our powerful force of the group:
And here we are:
1. Mrs. Tiiu Märtson - Estonian Food and Agricultural Workers Union - shopsteward in company Kalev;

and our facilitator:
14. Mrs. Tiia Kask - Open Education Association - non-govermental and not - for-profit, adult education organisation.
Our jobs can be characterized as being interesting and hard. We engaged in communication, training, organising, helping; various activities for public benefit. We hope that all of you can say the same about your jobs.
For other study circles we would like to state the following:
Our first proposal for the project leaders would be to come together with all participants in the place X sometimes in the future. It is for the opportunity to have better contact and co-operation with each other for the future benefit in building up strong links between trade unions of different countries in the world. We hope you agree with our request!
Our expectations of the study circle course are as of following:
All members have positive feelings about the first meeting they had. They are interested in further co-operation (participation). They liked the ideas presented in the project and they were pleased to accept each other as of being members of different organisations like trade unions, other non-governmental organisations and employee organisation, as well. In that way they have a possibility to get a wider perspective of all the institutions involved in the work of trade unions.
A thema of talking about influences of TNCs to Estonian society has not been respected yet. So there is a very little information available about TNCs in Estonia and world-wide. For the same reason it was not possible to talk about any spesific issues in the first meeting.
Our group decided to meet on every Wednesday morning.
Good luck in running the first international study circle,
with best regards,
members of Estonian study circle
