STUDY CIRCLE-PERU
Introducing to other Study circles in the project
Dear friends around the world, receive our regards from Study Circle-Peru.
We are 18 members ; 14 men and 4 women . Althoug the majority live in Lima. 4 members are coming of out of Lima; from Huaral, 250 Kms north to Lima, from Marcona, 400 kms south to Lima, from Chimbote, 500 kms north to Lima, from Talara, 1,300 kms north to Lima. These members travel by bus to Lima, only to participate in our Study Circle.
We are a big group really. We had to selected the applications. Many people wished to participate in our pilot project. There are people from trade unions, from NGOs, educational institute to workers.
They prepared these answers for all of you.
My name is Julio Rivera Salvador. I lived in Huaral, a little city 200 Kms northern of Lima, the capital. I work in Edelnor, a Company of Electricity. This company has just been privatizated. I am a technician in maintenance of electric power plant. I like the gardening and cultivation.
My name is Janet Barzola Aybar. I lived in Santa Anita, a district of Lima. I am a footwear manufacturer teacher. I like play voleyball and reading in my spare time. I participate in 3 organizations; Casa de Cobriza Women´s Committee, National Trade Union of Mining women and National Federation of Mining Workers.
My name is Paola Vaño Juarez. I lived in Lima. I work in Art School and in Garcilaso de la Vega University as a TV production teacher. I like reading poetry, the theather, human expressions. I am the responsible of COMUNINA, A NGO specialist in Alternative Communication for children in high risk. .
My name is Edgar Grados. I live in Marcona, a little city 400 kms northern of Lima. I work in Shoguang, a recent Mining Privatized Company. The new owner is the Chinese Government. I work in mechanical of the plant.. I like navigate in internet in my free time. I am a General Secretary of workers trade union. .
My name is Anita Lujan Gonzales. I work in ISAT, a peruvian Ngo specialized on health and work issues. I am a nurse. I like to watch video, go to the movies, be with friends. I particpate in Peruvian Association of Public Health
My name is Eduardo Castillo. I live in Lima. I work as a Political Advisor to General Confederation of Peruvian Workers, CGTP
My name is Francisco Arias. I live in El Agustino, a district of Lima. I work in Telefonica del Paru. The most important TNCs of communications operating in Latin America. This was a Public company that was privatized. I am a unionist.
My name is Pablo Checa. I lived in Surco, a district of Lima. I am a Director of Trade Union Educational Institute of CGTP.
My name is Jose Marcos-Sanchez Zegarra. Iived in Lima and worked in PLADES. I am in charge of trade union and democracy programm. I am member of executive Committee of IFWEA, representing Latin America
My name is Manuel Santillana Salas. I work in TV Channel 4 in Lima . I like play football in my spare time.
My name is Alfonso Campos. I live in Chorrillos, in Lima. I work in Telefonica del Peru, private phone company. I am a technician to installations. I like reading and practice sports. My organisations is National Federation Telefonica´s Workers.
My name is Renan Cachique. I lived in Lima. I work in Volvo Peru. This is a swedish TNC. I am a general secretary of our union. I like music and play with my children.
My name is Jose Esteves. I lived in Miraflores, in Lima. I work as a employee in Municipality of Lima. I am member of National Federation Municipal Workers.
My name is David Flores Villanueva. I lived in Lima. I work as a independent worker in a Street market. I have studied administration for 4 years in Villareal University. I would like finish my studies. I am a member of the Union of my market.
My name is Rocio Carmen Campana, I live in Chimbote, a city 500 kms north to Lima. I studied laws and work as a legal advisor of trade unions in Chimbote. I participate in training programms for women in our region. I am divorced and I have two children.
My name is Juan Castillo, I live in Talara, a little city 1,500 kms north to Lima. This city was created in 60´s for Transnationals petroleum companies. I worked in Petroperu, a public petroleum company. I work as a inspector of Metal structures. I am the General Secretary of United Trade Union of Petroleum, Energy of Grau Region.
My name is Christian Rivas. I live in Lima. I am a training resposibile for Andean region of ICEM, International Trade Union od Chemical, Mining and Energy.
My name is Juan Carlos Vargas. I live in Lima. I work in PLADES, a peruvian laboral NGO. I am in charge of Globalization and Labor Programm. I am married and I have two children. I like read, go to the movies and sports. I am facilitator of study Circle-Peru

The group remarks the importance of this kind of methodology which gives the opportunity to establish a close communication among study circles of different parts of the world, to find out what happening in other countries around Globalisation and TNC´s.
EVALUATION
Finally we did a brain storm to get opinion about this first session.. In general, the people thought The aims of our session have been got. they established a good communications among them. Other opinions were around dynamic of the session 1. They did suggestions to improve our work in the circle.
In this first session the main objective have been introduced themselves. We have got a good group. They feel comfortable and exciting for the next session.
