Hello the ISC members,

We just had our introduction meeting on this wednesday 18 March. Even though I planned to start much earlier I had to wait for my boss's final green light. As the result of that most of the people I contacted were very interested by the ISC project but not ready to involve in a so tight period of time.

Qui est IN qui est OUT ?

I contacted a trade-union representative, Ginette Delplace to join the group. Unfortunatly she didn't answer yet.

I also contacted, late, Marc Vandercamen who is working in the FGTB national trade union - Fédération Générale des Travailleurs de Belgique. I still have to talk with him to see wether he could come or delagate people for the next sessions.

I met Frans Teuchies who is working for the NCOS, the National Center for the cooperation in the development. His organisation is pluralist with three kinds of members

  1. what we call in Belgium the 11.11.11 rural comitees
  2. most of the flemish non-governmental organisations for the cooperation in the development and groups of action working around the axle North-South
  3. the big social mouvements such as the trade unions and organisations for the youth

He is most interested in what Euro-Wea is doing, and particularly in the ISC project. He wanted to take part but faced the problem of time schedule, delay for action and recruitement of its members. Moreover at the grass-root most of then only speak flemish.

Several other invitations were launched, still without any response but the following present people at the introduction meeting are interested to follow the process, this is to say :

Two main questions emerged from our first discussion regarding the aim of the project

  1. What does Euro-Wea want to do with the ISC productions?
  2. What actions could be undertaken to make thinks change, to avoid another more "useless" brainstorming?

Read you soon
