Hi everybody !

My report about the second session of the French ISC on Thursday March 12th is late regarding the deadline but a previous one has disappeared in the cyberspace...

We were again 15 persons with two new members, one absent and a visitor from Lyon (who was very interested in ISC)

Here is the list of the participants :

First, Joel JAMET and I read the different messages from Alana and from the other groups. The messages were numerous so it was long, but everybody was very glad is discovering Alana, the financial problems of Euro-Wea, el Niño in Peru, the Tiia's charm... They were delighted for discovering concretely the ISC's realities

The menu selected was about MAI and SAP but the discussion was so lively and interesting that we only had time to learn and exchange about MAI. (OK, OK I know, Frenchies are not disciplined at all !). The SAP will be examined on Session 3.

We used a method I recommend very much to the other circles : because we didn't have time for translating the material from Euro-WEA (sorry !), Joél JAMET and I had selected an excellent pedagogical and leading article about MAI published in the French national daily "Libération".

Each member of the circle, in turn, read aloud a paragraph. He could be interrupted for a question, a thought or a precision...

So everybody was attentive, has spoken and the knowledge of each member became the knowledge of everybody.

The session was also the opportunity for seizing the sense of the words and concepts of globalization and transnational economies.

At the end, our group decided asking a question to the other ISC about the MAI : does it exist in your countries, at the moment, like in France, a strong resistance against the reduction of the local cultural habits, and especially about cinema, by the " world culture " from Hollywood, Sony and other " major companies " ?

We look forward your opinion...

Session 3 took place on Thursday March 26th...

To be continued...

Jean-Dominique
