Dear friends,

I really regret the delay of our first report's submission.

 

Let me at first tell you who takes part in our study circle:

 

Jutta Esser

Her home town is Duisburg. She just started her teacher-training at a vocational school in February 1998. She worked at a Thyssen firm before and therfor is member of the IG Metall.

Christiane Ludwig

She is nurse, specialist for intensive care;teacher nurse; for 6 years leader of a school for nurses, living in Dortmund. Now she?s studying Nursing and Health Care in Bochum ÖTV Trade Union Activist; Chair of local women's commitee

Jens Martens

living and working in Duesseldorf, at the DGB Bildungswerk, dealing with project management and distance learning experiences.

Juergen Sendler

He lives in Neckargemuend near Heidelberg; the office, he works in is in Duesseldorf., union education department of DGB. Due to his former work as a printer he is member of the media union (IG Medien).

 

We have been fascinated seeing really big and interesting study circles meet under difficult circumstances - welcome to all of you and please don't be too cross about our delay

Everybody in the study circle has access to e-mail and internet, so it wasn't necessary to get the materials printed. We started the discussion with the text

what is globalisation ?? translated into German language.

We talked about economic changes, which could be experienced in workplaces of health services, hospitals (as an important part of public services in Germany).
