1. | Getting to know each other |

A game introduced by the facilitator.

2. | What is this course about? |
[45 minutes]
The facilitator introduces the aims of the project. S/he expains who is running it, who else around the world is taking part, how an international study works and what is expected from each study circle in the project.The facilitator should go to the international study circle world-wide web site and give a practical demonstration of how the first pilot programme was run.
Going round in turn, each member says what he or she hopes to get from the course.

3. | Planning the work |

The facilitator should go through the course outline. The group must discuss:

4. | Introducing ourselves to the other study circles in the project |
[30 minutes]
Each participant should write a few lines about themselves to send to the members of the international study circle in other countires. Here are some guidelines:
Take a group photograph which can then be put onto the web-site.

5. | Communicating with other members of the international study circle |
The facilitator or a member of the study circle should email the introductions which have been written up to TSL in Finland by 19 March 1998.
