Aims

• to discuss the experiences and views of the study circles in other countries
• to consider the positive action taken in response to transnational corporations
• to understand how to build global links and organisation in transnational companies

Activities

	1.	The experience of globalisation in other countries

[1 hour]

Read the reports which have been sent by the study circles in other countries. Discuss what is similar and different to the effects of globalisation in your country. Do you agree or disagree with the opinions raised by the participants in the other study circles? Write a response to those issues which you would like to discuss further with the other study circles.

	2.	Case-studies of positive action

[45 minutes]

Using the case-studies, which have been circulated, discuss the following questions:

• What should be the role of global company councils in TNCs?
• What other methods can workers use to organise in transnational companies?

	3.	Communicating with other members of the international study circle

[15 minutes]

Discuss in your group what you would like to include to report from your discussion on organising in transnational corporations. Remember to include all the opinions which exist in your group. Your report should also include those issues which you would like to take further from previous sessions. The report should be sent by email to TSL in Finland by 16 April.
