Has also worked in the past for the LHMU. In Sydney his work takes him to construction sites where the main issues are health and safety and the problems associated with sub-contracting. Interested in learning about the situation of workers in other countries; how to oppose economic rationalism. The anti union federal government has targetted the CFMEU for attack this year, including a Commission of Enquiry into Productivity in the Construction Industry. |

Similarly to the public owned dockyards nearby he has seen the Sydney Ferries restructured from 110 to 50 workers. Active in the AMWU for 8 years. He is a shop steward and a memer of the State Council of the AMWU. Interested to learn more about globalisation and privatisation. |

I am 49 years old and have worked in union education for the past 15 years. Before that I worked in the metal industry and before that as a teacher in the public school system. I have also been active in grass roots political activity for the past 25 years.
