1. Choi, Gousik (male)

I was born in November 1969 and live with mother and one brother and one sister. I am working for Daewoo Motors and a member of Dawoo Motors union. I like to look around to find and know something new. Through the ISC program, I hope to meet fresh peoples and deal with new challenges.

2. Hwang, Seungjin (male)

I was born in 1968 and live in company’s dormitory. I am working for Daewoo Motors. I am a member and activist of Daewoo Motors union. Nowadays I am running a small study circle in my union and I think that this ISC program will be a great help for it. Concerning the ISC circle, what I would like to say is that I want to hold your hand for our peace.

3. Hwang, Minho (male)

I was born in 1963 and live with a wife and a son in Seoul. I am working for Korea Medical Insurance Corporation and was a former director of education department of KMIC union. I like to drink and have discussions or talks with rank & file members. I have a plan to run for the president of our union in the next election. In 1996, I participated in the KLSI’s residential training course for unionists. Since that time, I have related to KLSI’s education activities.

4. Song, Bosuk (male)

I was born in 1967 and live alone in Seoul. I am working for Daewoo Group Trade Unions’ Council. I am responsible for policy and information in my council.

5. Kim, Jinyoung (female)

I was born in May 1971 and got married in January this year. I am working as an administrator for MBC union that is the second largest public broadcasting union in Korea.

6. Lyou, Kyungrim (female)

I was born in March 1972. I am a nurse of the Virgin Mary Hospital and also a member of Korean Medical and Health Industrial Union, which is marked substantially as the 1st industrial union in Korea. I am single and live with dad, mom, brother, sister-in-law and nephews. Since last year when I attended the KLSI’s education program, I have participated in the KLSI’s activities.

7. Park, Hyunmi (female)

I was born in 1971. I am a nurse of the Virgin Mary Hospital and a full-time officer of VMH locals of Korean Medical and Health Industrial Union. I am single and live alone. Last year I participated in the KLSI’s education program. At level of local union, I am busy to develop strategy and tactics to cope with employer’s new management strategy.

8. Kim, Inja (female)

I was born in 1970. I am working for the Federation of Korean Trade Unions which is the largest national center in Korea. I am responsible for legal service. Since 1992 I have worked for FKTU. In order to study labour laws in depth, I have been participating in a program on labour laws.

9. Cho, Hyounnyoun (male)

I was born in 1977 and am a student activist in Kwandong University. Last year, I attended the KLSI’s labour education program which I became to know about the ISC program through. I pressed KLSI for my participation in the ISC program and was able to join it.

10. Byun, Haeryoung (female)

I was born in 1975 and I got married last year. While I am not a worker, I was able to participate in this ISC program because I attended a labour education program organized by KLSI. I have a plan to work for the progressive organization related to labour movement in the near future. I think that it is therefore very helpful and useful for me to join this program.

11. Lee, Jungoo (male)

I was born in 1966 and live alone in Seoul. I am a student of graduate school of Korea University. My major is economics. While I am not a worker, I was able to participant in this ISC program because I attended a labour education program organized by KLSI. I have the same plan as Sister Byun’s to work for the progressive organization related to labour movement in the near future. Also, I think that it is useful for me to join this program.

12. Hong, Gyosun (male)

I am a printing worker and union officer of Seoul printing workers’ union. In 1998, I have participated in KLSI’s education program. My main concern is about the long-term strategy and ideological alternative of working class.

Yoon, Hyowon (male)

I was born in 1970. I have worked for the Korean labour movement since 1995. Now I am an educator of Korea Labour & Society Institute and also have a responsibility for the publication of monthly Labour Society Bulletin. I live alone in Southern part of Seoul.
