Online Labour Academy (OLA)

Technology creating a new opportunity for access to education

The internet created a new opportunity for access to education and the IFWEA Online Labour Academy was established in 2012 to promote online workers’ education. As an online education platform the Online Labour Academy is used by affiliates to design and deliver online workplace, social and political education to their constituencies. The platform is highly flexible allowing for a wide range of activities and resources to be used in courses.

Doing online education programmes

Developing an online education programme promotes and makes accessible education offered by our affiliates. Through the Online Labour Academy we are building a knowledge community of labour and community educators who share their curricular, materials and pedagogy, thereby improving the quality and the range of education that can be offered to the global labour movement.

Training for educators:

IFWEA offers training for educators to design and deliver courses using the Online Labour Academy and will mentor and provide technical assistance to educators delivering courses on it. If you are interested in designing and delivering courses using the Online Labour Academy please contact the IFWEA secretariat. A list of courses designed by affiliates can be viewed on the affiliates section of Online Labour Academy. If you are interested in viewing any of them, participating in them,or teaching them in your organisation, please contact the IFWEA secretariat.

Register on OLA:
