Participatory Learning Methods: An Introduction to Workers’ Education is a course for grassroots worker leaders and educators who want to broaden their understanding of workers’ education and learn about participatory learning methods. In 2019 it attracted a large group of participants from countries including Cambodia, Namibia, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Uganda and more. The course begins by asking what is workers’ education and then locates it within the broader field of adult education. There is also discussion on the purpose, role and values of workers’ education.
Workers’ education takes on different forms with using different participatory learning methods. This course explores these forms and how they incorporate participatory learning methods. It includes examples and experiences that assist participants to improve their use of participatory learning methods in education programmes and activities.
