Ibtikar has joined IFWEA as an affiliate. Ibtikar is a Palestinian NGO that offers innovative youth programmes, corporate training, and consulting services to foster social innovation and entrepreneurship in the community.
The overall objective of Ibtikar is to promote the education of social innovation in Palestine and provide Palestinian youth with a safe space in which that they can find innovative solutions for the challenges and problems that they face. The Ibtikar slogan is “promoting education for social innovation.”
Ibtikar was created by a group of Palestinian educators, entrepreneurs, activists, and changemakers. Together, they bring extensive professional experience in intercultural learning, youth empowerment, social entrepreneurship, non-formal education, democratic and civic engagement, social impact measurement, organisational development, social innovation, and more.
Ibtikar was established as an initiative in 2017 and registered officially as an NGO at the end of 2019. It is based in Bethlehem (West Bank-Palestine), and operates regionally, nationally and internationally.
Ibtikar wants to enable Palestinians to use their creativity to respond to social issues and contribute effectively to building a fairer, more caring, and equal society. Ibtikar also believes that education for social innovation engenders well-being amongst young people and helps build a strong nation that is more inclusive, empathetic, and connected.
Ibtilar believes that young people must lead the way in making the UN Sustainable Development Goals a reality. Each of Ibtikar’s projects is a powerful tool to accelerate progress on the goals. Ibtikar will do its best to ensure decision-makers and influencers hear their voices.
Ibtikar’s strategy (2020-2023), is aligned with the U.N. transformative 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Leave No-One Behind. IBrikar believes that IFWEA’s affiliates and partners will be able to benefit from the virtual workshops that they deliver.
