The IFWEA Secretariat has started exploring various video conferencing applications which are in competition with the Blue Jeans application in use for the past four years.

The IFWEA Secretariat has started exploring various video conferencing applications which are in competition with the Blue Jeans application in use for the past four years. This is maintain and improve communication within the global knowledge community. KUDO, Teams, Zoom and The Big Blue Button are all upgrading their software to cater for increased online communication. The IFWEA Secretariat has begun testing these apps for their relevance and use for grassroots popular education on a global level, including functions like real time translations in virtual meetings, formal meeting functions like moderating and polling, bandwidth restrictions and requirements, and quality of sound and picture.

Changes made to the IFWEA Online Labour Academy platform include upgrades on four plug-ins, testing of an integration application to host online meetings as part of course activities, and creating automated certificates for course participants.
