WHO IS THIS FOR? This report is aimed at study circles, civil society organisations and activists particularly working in the informal sector.

The ultimate objective of this report is to is to develop a bargaining forum model (consisting of composition options as well as implementation guidelines) which can be tested by StreetNet’s affiliates and other organisation of street vendors and informal traders. This is necessary because most street vendors and informal traders worldwide organise in a legislative environment which does not cover them. This means that, even when they organise collectively, they lack appropriate statutory bargaining forums. They are therefore forced to settle for ad-hoc negotiations and agreements which are difficult to enforce or maintain.
