TITLE: Workers’ Lives Series

PUBLISHED BY: Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing (WIEGO), 2012 – 2014

WHO IS THIS FOR? Trade union members, labour educators, study circles and labour NGOs.

Workers’ Lives use descriptive profiles of individual workers to explore informal employment issues. Part of the WIEGO publication series, these stories illuminate, in different contexts, the living and working environments of informal workers and how they experience first-hand the impact of policies and organising initiatives. The stories are based on workers living in Brazil, India, South Africa, Mocambique and Uganda, and feature a street barber, a waste-picker, a home-based garment worker and a domestic worker, amongst others.
